I recognize that deciding to seek therapy is not easy; it is rarely the first option. By the time you reach out for help, you may have spent considerable time trying to manage difficult experiences and circumstances on your own. I approach our work with openness and curiosity, aiming to understand what has brought you here and what may be keeping you feeling stuck.

Together, we can explore your emotional life, your relationships, and the ways you have learned to understand and respond to yourself and the world around you.

Therapeutic Focus: Depression & Low Mood, Anxiety & Feeling Overwhelmed, Relationship Difficulties, Life Transitions & Sudden Challenges, Emotional Patterns, Self-Understanding, Interpersonal Difficulties, Cross-Cultural Experiences.

Thoughtful, Compassionate & Depth-Oriented Care

You may come to therapy because you are feeling overwhelmed, low, or caught in a recurring pattern. Perhaps something in your relationships no longer feels the way you would like it to, or a significant change or unexpected challenge has made life more difficult to navigate. Whatever brings you to therapy, my aim is to provide a space where your experiences can be understood without judgment. I work with adults between the ages of 18 and 60 from diverse backgrounds and life circumstances.

I am fluent in both English and Hindi and am comfortable providing therapy in either language.

Approach & Areas of Expertise

My approach is grounded in psychodynamic therapy, which involves developing a deeper understanding of your emotional experiences, relationships, internal conflicts, and recurring patterns. Within this framework, I typically begin with a structured exploration of the concerns that have brought you to therapy. As our work progresses, I endeavour to create a trusting space where you can feel increasingly comfortable being vulnerable and exploring experiences that may be difficult to put into words.

Over time, needs, conflicts, inhibitions, and patterns that may initially be difficult to recognize can gradually emerge and become better understood. Together, we can begin connecting these different aspects of your experience and considering how they may relate to the difficulties you are facing in the present.

What to Expect on Your Therapeutic Journey

Our early sessions will focus on understanding what has brought you to therapy and developing a fuller picture of your current concerns, emotional experiences, relationships, and relevant history. As we become more familiar with one another, therapy becomes a space where we can explore your experiences in greater depth. You are encouraged to speak openly about what feels important to you, while moving at a pace that feels manageable. My role is to listen carefully, remain curious about your experience, and help us notice connections between your emotions, relationships, past experiences, and present difficulties. Through this process, we can work toward a deeper understanding of the patterns that may be contributing to how you currently feel and relate to others.

Education & Clinical Experience

My approach to therapy has been shaped by clinical experience across different settings and cultures. I completed my undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Delhi. Prior to moving to Canada, I developed my clinical foundation at two major mental health and healthcare institutions in India: the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences (IHBAS), a government-funded centre specializing in mental health care, and Max Healthcare, a large multi-specialty hospital network. Working in these high-volume healthcare environments provided me with extensive exposure to individuals experiencing a broad range of psychological concerns, including complex and longstanding difficulties. These experiences continue to inform the way I understand clients within the context of their relationships, histories, cultures, and broader life circumstances.
